
Leonard George Jupe was born in Winchester on 11 December 1889 and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy Second Class on 1 October 1906.
Advanced Leading Seaman on 25 June 1913, he served in a variety of ships and shore based establishments during the Great War, and was promoted Petty Officer on 1 October 1915.
Awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (L.S & G.C.) on 21 December 1922, he was promoted Chief Petty Officer on 10 August 1924.
He saw further service during the Second World War as a Chief Petty Officer at H.M.S. Excellent, and died at the Royal Naval Hospital, Haslar, on 19 January 1945.
He is buried in Haslar Royal Naval Cemetery.
