ARTHUR GILL - Pier & Face 11C
Arthur was born in Wakefield, Yorkshire, the eldest of the five children of John Thomas (a railway engine turner) and Lavinia Gill of 24 St. Catherine Street, Sandal, Wakefield. He was employed as a clerk in the goods department of the Great North Railway at Wakefield and enlisted there in January 1916.
Lance Corporal Arthur Norman Gill 26038, 7th Battalion, King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, died on 24th February 1917, aged 20, while in trenches near Morval.
